Rancho Cucamonga, California, is located in San Bernardino County.  It is located about 39 miles east of Los Angeles and has a population of approximately 127,000.  It is considered a desirable location and in 2006 was voted by Money magazine as the 42nd best place to live in the United States. Rancho Cucamonga covers an area of 39.9 square miles.  It lies at the conjunction of the Mojave trail, the Old Spanish Trail, the Santa Fe Trail, historic US Route 66 and El Camino Real.  The town takes its name from the Tongva Native American language and means "sandy place" or "village where the waters come out".  This refers to the area's fertile soil and the seasonal flooding that occurs due to the community's proximity to the mountains.
